Job Description:
HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Nurse Extern for our
Cardiac Neuro ICU to join our team, providing exceptional care in a
specialized unit. This role is ideal for a nursing student eager to
expand their knowledge in a high-acuity environment, focusing on
patients with complex cardiac and neurological conditions. You will
work under the supervision of seasoned nursing staff, gaining
invaluable hands-on experience that supports your academic
learning. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage
directly in critical care procedures and patient management,
promoting a deeper understanding of ICU protocols and patient care
techniques specific to cardiac and neuro health issues. Assist with
daily clinical operations in the Cardiac Neuro ICU under the
guidance of registered nurses and medical staff. Participate in
patient assessments and contribute to planning care strategies.
Monitor patient vitals and report any critical changes to the
supervising staff. Support the healthcare team with setting up and
maintaining equipment. Help in implementing patient care plans and
observe outcomes. Ensure strict compliance with hygiene and safety
protocols. Strong clinical skills in a hospital setting Ability to
work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills Deep understanding of
patient care protocols Capacity to learn and operate medical
equipment Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus
