Job Description:

Peer Support and Housing Supervisor provides supervision to Peer Support Specialists who provide supportive services at the peer level to focus on rehabilitation and recovery of clients thru self-identification as an individual who has received mental health services.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Provides initial training of new peer support staff as well as continuing education in peer support best practices. * Maintains caseload assignments and updates on client to peer interactions * Meets regularly with staff for monthly reviews of productivity and performance, monitors expenses and documentation of services on a regular basis. * Maintain a caseload of CPST clients * Actively involved with local groups related to mental health issues of adults, such as, Consumer Run Organizations (CROs), NAMI, etc. * Accept & process housing applications - lead housing workgroup * Actively coordinates with local housing agencies * Pursues development of transitional housing at HMHC * Manages, along with the Dept. Head, the Homeless Coalition funds from the State * Other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Basic data entry skills

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* BA/BS degree or equivalent in Social Work, Education, Psychology or related field * Two years of experience working directly with consumers of mental health services or related area

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* One year of case management experience.
