Job Description In existence since 1995, the Substance Abuse Center of Kansas is a non-profit organization specializing in the prevention of substance abuse and the treatment of individuals and communities affected by substance abuse. Recovery Support Specialist - Hutchinson - 2nd & 3rd Shift 2nd Shift - 3:30 pm to 12:00 am. 3rd Shift --- 11:30pm --- 8:00 am. Weekday and Weekend help needed Position Overview: Creates a safe client environment by performing all required security and safety procedures Completes admission procedures with new clients Assists in the client's orientation of treatment goals, program rules and structure Documents required program and client information in a timely and complete manner Monitors client's weekly schedule and adherence to policies and procedures. Supports Counselors and other treatment providers with the coordination and implementation of client services from admission through discharge Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions. May participate in safe medication monitoring procedures. Maintain client and program confidentiality as required by federal laws While on duty, maintain a true and accurate record of client behavior and program related activities Must attend and participate in all staff meetings as directed Handle crisis situations as they might arise. Intervene appropriately to diffuse or de-escalate potentially harmful situations. Requirements include: Must have at least 1 year of sobriety, if in recovery Cannot be currently receiving services with any SACK location Must be off criminal supervision including parole, probation, and corrections Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
